MSN adCenter to Increase Traffic by 70%

In an email to DigitalGrit Account Managers, MSN shared the following news:

Over the course of the last several months, we have received tremendous feedback from you that has helped us improve the end-to-end customer experience with adCenter. Last Saturday, many new features were successfully added, and by popular request, our next step is to begin increasing traffic to your ads served by MSN adCenter. To that end, we will be increasing traffic by approximately 70% from our current levels, meaning that roughly 40% of search traffic will now be served by adCenter.

This means that your budget may be impacted due to the increase.  Also, as more traffic is directed to adCenter, you should expect a decrease in traffic from your Yahoo! Search campaigns. You will be notified about the size and timing of additional traffic increases as we move towards launch.

The winds of change, they are a-blowin'....and conveniently, just in time for SES!

Google Introduces MeasureMap

Yesterday, Google announced MeasureMap on its official blog.

Our goal has been to use the power of web analytics to help bloggers feel that same sense of connection with their audience. Today, as the Measure Map team joins Google, our mission remains the same: to build the best possible user experience so people can understand and appreciate the effect their blogs - their words and ideas - can have.

Finally, they're moving Blogger into a more competitve position, and if they can limit splogs a little more effectively, they might attract a few more serious bloggers. Typepad was also talking about upgrading their severely anemic analytics package, but I've yet to see that happen.

It's also clear that Google is very serious about analytics these days. With the recent purchase of Urchin, this makes for another step in a very smart direction.

MeasureMap looks like a nice package, judging from the site. Here's the front page promise:

Measure Map helps you understand what people do at your blog, and what influence you are having on the world.

  • Easily navigate the numbers that matter
  • Track links to see who sends you traffic
  • Find out what people do at your site
  • Setup is a breeze — it only takes a minute

Can't wait to try it. I was going to move my personal blog to WordPress, but maybe I'll reconsider...

Seems Yahoo! is testing a new homepage look. Much cleaner and more modern, and still easy to navigate, in my opinion. I'd love to hear what our usability team has to say...
